Oromia State University (OSU) recently convened the 1st International and 10th National Symposium focused on "Enhancing Public Sector Transformation, Public Service Delivery, and Human Resource Development and Competency in Ethiopia." The event brought together local and international researchers to share knowledge and explore solutions to the nation's challenges.OSU President, Dr. Geremu Huluka, emphasized the significance of the conference in fostering research collaboration and knowledge exchange. The symposium aimed to promote technology transfer, and develop research-based solutions to address Ethiopia's pressing issues.The event was graced by the presence of the Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Prof. Shen Qinmin, as the guest of honor. In his address, Ambassador Qinmin highlighted the crucial role of civil servants in national development and underscored the importance of cultivating a strong work culture to alleviate poverty. He also emphasized the power of unity in building a prosperous future for Ethiopia.The symposium featured nineteen research papers from both domestic and international scholars. Distinguished guests, including Mr. Abdulhakim Mulu, Social Cluster Coordinator at the Oromia Regional State Vice President, and Prof. Theodore Menelik, Central African Representative to the African Union, provided valuable insights and engaged in discussions with researchers. Following the presentations, certificates were awarded to the researchers who contributed their papers to the conference.Additionally, an exhibition titled “OSU’s Progress” showcased the university's journey since its establishment, providing participants with an overview of its achievements and milestones.
